I have been fishing as long as I could remember and for some time now, I have gone into the world of Kayak fishing. From the very beginning, there were no great fishing kayaks available. I had to buy a kayak and rig it up by adding flushed rod holder mounts and other little things to ensure I can carry enough gears to have a successful trip. Fast forward today, they make kayaks fully rigged!
Having to own a Hobie Outback - a peddle powered kayak - change the entire game for me. I now not only fish small bodies of water, but also big bodies of water. Equipping it with electronics that can tell me the contours underneath my kayak, to see where a boulder or a fallen tree has change the way I fish.
Today, I am very passionate in trying to master a body of water. What is that supposed to mean? Fish lives in the water and will feed throughout the year. To master a body of water, one will need to understand the seasonal patterns of the fishes that resides within and be able to chase and locate fish, especially the big ones.
Here is a video of myself fishing in the summer trying to locate lethargic big fish, eventually hooking up on an awesome one that was pulling my kayak around for a bit.
Hope this video will inspire folks to try fishing via on a kayak. Feel free to leave me some comments if you have any questions in regards to kayak fishing.
Tight lines!
