So generally if I'm away for the weekend or on holidays I will generally try to find where the nesrest Parkrun is and add another event to my list. As you might have read in my last blog I did Broadbeach Waters Parkrun on the Gold Coast last weekend. This weekend took me to Newy Parkrun in Newcastle on the final leg of our week and a half long trip. It's an out and back style course and a nice spot which takes you from the rowing club and 2.5kms around the banks and return. I wasn't able to get a very good shot of the course as the start/finish line faces down stream of the harbour/river. This is the best I could do..
I placed 60th overall out of a field of 400 in a time of 22 mins 50. Was just one of those runs where I wasnt feeling it from the get go.
Have only just come back from 3 week off with a knee injury the previous weekend and then tried to do 30km in a week which may not have been the best idea as I felt fatigued. I have city to surf in less than 2 months though so I need to start getting the k's back into the ol legs.
