Flashing back allot lately. Those were some intense years when I was young. Experienced allot of bullying and I was stressed out. It really bugs me social conditions have not changed since then. There are still kids going through the same turmoil and trouble and it ain't right! The culture fills their heads with wack symbolism pushing sex, drugs and violence as the only outlets against an oppressive school curriculum and a society who has a fetish over money. The poor are still poor and minority groups are still struggling to this day. We have the legacy of genocide in our history that still has not seen the light of day to be reconciled.
Still think of 2pac and Kurt Cobain and how they were reaching disaffected youth everywhere, yet their life's got cut short. That ain't right. We need more honest hunger/anger voices to cut through the bullshit! Raise your voice, be for real! One song I never heard much before but really brings me back to 20 years ago is a song called Pain by 2pac. 2pac doesn't write sad songs, yet I sometimes burst out in tears when I hear it.
This video makes me realise that Kurt and Pac were absolute peers! And they both represent the angst and struggles of the youth of that times. The confusion, hope and pain. Great guys! Now I'm pissed off enough to remember and see things have not changed. Stay mad. Articulate that rage. Express your explicit love!
I'm pumped to write some more songs and tell more tales! Soon as I get home from work! Life is about to get good and great! Peace and Love!
