Flashback Fridays
I checked, so I want to welcome you to my new flashbackfridays tag. No one was using it and no one was using flashbackfriday (without the 's'). I am going to try and do a flashback post every Friday. So I will present some of the things that caught my eye during my flashback search. Feel free to join in and flashback on Fridays to either happier seeming times or more poor times or bad memory times. Not everything smells like roses, and to be honest when you get a lot of rose scents they can be overpowering at times. So have fun with it like I am going to try and do.

Now on with the flashback.
Flashback to 1970
7/7/70
Well for all the number people, here is some shocking news according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1970 Nothing happened on 7/7/70 nothing at all. 2 days before on the 5th an Air Canada flight crashed and 4 days later Thor Heyerdahl's papyrus boat Ra II arrives in Barbados.A pretty fascinating individual you may want to look up if you have no clue who he is, or refresh your memory with a quick look over of the wiki page on him.
The President
Richard Milhous Nixon was the 37th President, and in office during 1970.
(I just had to throw the disclaimer thing that the wiki sight had. Copyright is not an easy thing to deal with when it comes to governments).
News Headlines and History
May 4th 1970 A school shooting. Today people think nothing of school shootings, and a lot of people believe most of them are staged events, just a quick search on Facebook, youtube or even steemit will turn up lots of post and stories about Sandy Hook. A severe lack of trust in the mainstream media and the local governments. On May 4th 1970 it was not a bullied kid, a kid on drugs or a kid who just had had enough and went bonkers, nope on May 4th, It was the State Government that went nuts. The State of Ohio, and its National Guard. If you are a little lacking on history or have never heard of this event you really do need to look into it. Next time someone tells you something starting with the words "our Government would never...." you may want to think twice on their coming statement. The mainstream media used to have integrity, they used to do investigative reports, news meant something. something went very wrong in the last 20 years or so with media.
No. 1 song of 1970
Not surprisingly, (I guess), is that to close the year out Billboard top 100 songs of the year had as number 1:
"Bridge over Troubled Water" by Simon & Garfunkel.

Auto flashback
For the car buff's this is not a joke, this is according to a wiki article, (yeah I know don't trust everything you read on wiki), On April 1st 1970, yes that day April fools day, of all days to introduce a car they chose that day. Who would choose that day to introduce a car? What car was it that got introduced on April 1st 1970? This little tidbit would be a good trivia question, it was none other that AMC and that car was the Gremlin.

Yeah its a commercial I know still entertaining though:

Conclusion
Thus concludes my flashback of 1970, a few of the items that caught my eye and jogged my memory while looking for items to feature. What would catch your eye if you did a "#flashbackfridays" post for the year 1970? Next Friday, hopefully a different year to flash back thru.
