Okay, so I'm a ball-earther as they may refer to those of us who 'believe' in science. Actually science doesn't need me to believe in it as it will be there anyway. Another popped up in a re-steem on my feed. I made the mistake of saying this debate was settled millennia ago. I really shouldn't bother as these people have made up their minds that there's some grand conspiracy by every culture to convince us all of the crazy idea that we live on a ball and manage to not fall off.
I prefer to enjoy the wonder of this universe. We are just specks, but we are special. We have to curiosity to want to know more about what's out there (well at least some of us do).
Ultimately it doesn't matter on a day to day basis, unless you are deal with any sort of global phenomena or you are a long-haul pilot. The meteorologists seem to do a pretty good job with ball-earth models.
There may well be grand conspiracies out there, but there are real issues that we do know about and should be worrying about. I should resist the temptation to try and persuade people who think we've all been duped. I really don't have the time. I guess they are mostly harmless.
