Have you ever had that feeling of your gut stuck in your throat?, That feeling when the saliva in your throat is hard to spit out and even harder to swallow? Tied to my seat by my seatbelt hanging upside down I was feeling just like that, those high pitched screams by almost everyone on the plan didn't help either.
What just happened? As far as I remember I was playing a peek-a-boo game with this 4 year girl in the seat beside me, I slowly turned my head around to check on her but she was not there now, where did she suddenly go? Can all these screaming passengers please stop? I cannot focus on anything right now, the sun was too bright too, I tried to look over the window but all I was able to see was the vast ocean. What happened all of sudden?
I think I was not upside down any more, I can faintly here the pilot or the airhostess trying to make an announcement, but I was not able to figure out what they were trying to say. My head felt wet and water was dripping to my eyes, I tried to clean the water off only to find it was blood. Was it mine? But I do not feel any pain. In fact I don't feel anything, the air mask were dangling in front of me like pendulums but I tried to reach to one of them but it felt pretty far, I thought for once to remove the seat belt and get hold of it but then I realized I was hanging upside down a few minutes back what if it happens again? And did it happen few minutes or seconds ago? I had lost my sense of time; it could had been hours for what I feel.
The announcement went again I was just able to hear inflatable vest and hen bam everything around me started rotating so fast, and the screams got louder, I felt a huge bam like the plan got struck with anything and lost my consciousness again. I came back to senses in I don't know how many minutes But I felt cold and wet I noticed I was chin deep in water, I felt calm! People were not screaming any more, I felt like I haven't slept for ages, I started closing my eyes promising it to be a very short nap. But before I closed my eyes I saw that girl who I was playing with earlier floating calmly near me I said to her “peek-a-boo” and closed my eyes.
