Blockchain's positive Social Impact opportunities
Blockchain - the mainstay of all crypto - was built to change our world. Each coin or token should be built with a stable foundation of useful application in society, to maintain it's value.
The definition of useful is changing. Where before a light that switches on with the click of a finger was useful, we now view useful as benefiting everyone from the poorest, most deprived citizens on the planet, in a sustainable fashion.
It may seem impossible or implausible that such futuristic technology can reach and benefit the poorest, but it's happening. There are many founders, developers and programmers around the world working diligently to create opportunities for change for those in seemingly hopeless situations. These technologies blend together in different ways to best benefit the planet and the people. That's you and everyone you love, not just the poorest.
FIRST IN A SERIES OF SOCIAL IMPACT IN BLOCKCHAIN
FLORACHAIN (Blockchain Technology) Answers Social Impact Responsibility Questions
Discovering Blockchain's Capabilities :: FloraChain prioritises Growers
Social Impact is very important to the creators & community of the majority of the technology currently being built, as they recognise the massive responsibility & immense opportunity to create the change.
I've set out to explore the many technologies that are making Social Impact a massive part of the way in which they design & implement their particular application.
FloraChain is one of the technological innovations that have captured me into researching more deeply what they're up to and how they plan to change the landscape of the Floral industry using Blockchain technology.
Once I've decided that the technology has a real world use in replacing an inept or broken system, I delve more deeply into the actual on-the-ground impact the application will have in changing lives now and in the future.
FloraChain Co-Founders AlexFrost and BrianKanda were very keen to answer the Social Impact responsibilities that I queried them on.
Intro to FloraChain:
" By designing a radically transparent floral supply chain, FloraChain harnesses grower and factory data to create the Blockchain of Flowers – an unprecedented floral supply network that maps the flower supply journey from grower to consumer. " florachain.io
So basically FloraChain is a Blockchain based application which everyone from the propagator of the seed to grower through to the florist and consumer will have access to and use to market, sell, send, receive and purchase Flowers. Globally.
It's trust base is unquestionable as the Smart Contract technology makes it transparent for all.
The flow of information is swift and available to all.
The opportunities for things to go wrong are diminished through the ease of access to the information needed to process the deliveries and orders.
All in all, FloraChain answers a lot of the current questions in making life easier to grow, sell, send and purchase Flowers across the planet.
How Does FloraChain benefit the Growers & Propagators?
1. What prompted you to go from traditional supply chain to Blockchain?
Alex Frost Co Founder of FloraChain
There has been a lack of transparency with growers and wholesalers for decades now with very few players sharing real time information, or even accurate information. Most of the time we buy flowers on the world market, we are putting blind faith in the information passed along to us.
As a flower buyer, I want to know exactly what day/time the flowers were harvested. Which farm they came from, and how long they have been in transit.
According to FloraChain website and other information the Flower Growers are currently under served in the supply chain within the Floral Industry.
2. What is your main objective?
Alex Frost Co Founder of FloraChain
Help growers collect more dollars for each harvest.
Help growers expand to new markets.
Help florists source new products worldwide.
Help consumers with better real time product information.
3. How are growers and propogators underserved? How does FloraChain fix that?
Flower growers receive a very small portion of the final fee paid by the Consumer. It's a very uncertain market for them never knowing if they'll sell their crops, how much of it will be sold and for how much. This makes life extremely vulnerable to disaster. Add to that nature's complexities, for smaller / outdoor growers their lives are a quagmire of perpetually growing stresses.
Florachain's Co-Fourner, Alext Frost eplains how they aim to put this to rights.
- Growers will earn more money per harvest using Blockchain's Florachain than on traditional systems.
- We create a online global marketplace for flower inventory data that reduces transaction friction across borders, languages and currencies.
- Florachain helps growers expand to new markets, increasing their selling opportunities.
- We help growers by making transactions easier to facilitate on the blockchain.
How do the growers actually benefit from the changeover to Blockchain from traditional, comprehensible systems they're used to?
Alex Frost: More accurate real time information to help with buying decisions.
In other words, the buyers will have access to more growers information and therefore able to purchase flowers they know are available or becoming available, when and how much?
The stability of this for growers is immense.
They can plan their planting according to demand across the global marketplace. Their entire crop can be sold or pre-booked with pre-payment held in place until harvest.
The security this offers the growers in planning, employing farm workers and living their own lives is immense.
The spin-off value of the social impact created by the FloraChain system can be immensely beneficial to the communities and surrounding areas of the growers.

ICO Investment Opportunity
Florachain offers, in my opinion, one of the most stable ICO investment opportunities across the ICO industry. The Founders, developers, partners, advisers showcase a strong, dedicated team who all see the real value that the FloraChain application offers to the floral industry as a whole. The Founders are both invested in the industry, have experienced and continue to experience the very real issues they are resolving with their platform. Their intrinsic knowledge of the pains puts them in first place for successful outcome of intended purpose.
