Sebastian, Indian River County in Florida is a small town on the Intra-Coastal Waterway. We spent 5 days relaxing with our daughter Angela and her husband Brent at the Oyster Bay Resort. We decided we wanted to do some fishing the next day so we went to the local Wal-Mart store to buy our fishing licenses and gear.
The next morning the four of us were down at the pier bright and early and soon we were motoring out into the waterway. The Intra-Coastal Waterway (ICW) is the name given to the sheltered waterway stretching from New Jersey in the north to Key West in the south on the Atlantic Ocean coastline. It consists of a series of natural inlets, bays, rivers and dredged canals that offer safe sheltered waters for commercial and leisure craft.
Our small motorboat whizzed across the main channel towards to sea inlet. We dropped anchor in shallow water and cast our lines out. Soon we caught a few fish that we released again. There were many small boats out fishing and it was a lovely morning outing.
