The National Weather Service has issued the winter storm warning for Florida state, and Gov. Rick Scott has urged residents for preparing the situation. Maximum schools canceled classes Wednesday, and Scott said transportation crews are spraying roads and bridges with a salt solution in anticipation of the wintry weather.
Many companies and industries declared to close on Wednesday and employees are suggested to work from home for the possible jobs like IT sectors.
Various counties are to open cold-weather shelters.
Last time it snowed in Florida was on Jan. 19, 1977, 40 years back.
