Pelargoniums are outstanding on the hill at this time of the year as the seeds are forming and there are many small bushes full of little seed pom-poms dotted around the landscape. As autumn comes, these seeds will detach themselves and be carried off by the wind.
Pelargoniums are indigenous to South Africa and many species have very similar flowers. I didn't get pictures of this particular species but the one below, commonly known as rose geranium is representative of the type.
