We are fast approaching the end of the summer. We have broken records for heat and lack of rain. Some things in garden were impacted by the weather, and other things the deer helped themselves.
Our Dahlias, which I grow in containers, have done well this year. First up is a new one. The flowers are smaller than some Dahlias, but the color makes up for it.
This next one is much larger, and even though white she is sure pretty:
There are not a lot of blooms this time of the year so the honey bees are keeping busy in the California Poppy patch:
Caught this bee sleeping this morning, curled up inside the flower. I had to replace my camera battery and by the time I was ready, it was waking up and moving:
