my favorite plant is AFRICAN VIOLETS or saintpaulias.
during my heydays, i created a cult following on this one of the top 10 most loved plants in the world.
there was usually a wave after wave of hybrids that would flood the market. i used to have the BALLET series - the classic one of deep purple with a white edge marking.
then there was the CHIMERA , the OPTIMARA, the variegated leaves ..... suddenly there was the MINI AV and boy! the prices were unbelievably cheap!! and the craze for av reached a new height!
