I turn 40 in a few weeks time so I thought it about time to crack on with something I've wanted to do for the last 10 years or so; learn to fly model planes.
A brief search of the British Model Flying Associations website confirmed the existence of a club in Acle which is about 15 - 20 minutes drive from the house. Having delved a little deeper the club has a training aircraft available and so there's no need for any investment of 'gear' until one has completed their BMFA 'A' Certificate. This is a test to confirm you're a competent flyer and most clubs will not allow you to fly solo until this test has been taken.
I've been in contact with the club today to see when best to visit - it's all very exciting really.
I've actually owned a few models but never got around to flying them - they then ended up getting damaged whilst shoved in the loft or garage; thankfully not a huge investment.
