Its been an up and down week this week with some great new discoveries but sadly a lot of scummy and scammy behaviour but we are not interested in that today because it's Friday and Friday is reserved for positivity!
First up today, and someone I just discovered this morning is , a man with a guitar and a mission to discuss resource credits but it's his music I wanted to point you towards first.
I must have lived a sheltered life as it turns out there is such a thing as Spanish Ska! This track is excellent and you immediately get the Ska rhythms in there but with an unmistakable Latin overtone. It works really well and I am going to be riding the You Tube train this weekend on a journey of discovery.
Knowing he is from Venezuela, the sound took me straight back to a holiday on Isla de Margarita back in about 2003, and particularly a Saturday night downtown in Porlamar where hypnotic music poured from every orifice on every street.
So here it is. with Techos de Carton , I'm quite sure that equates to 'Lip up Fatty' in English.........
A big thank-you to the enigma that is for pointing me in his direction!
is a guy in Nigeria who is working on his self-sufficiency and breeding rabbits and posts on an interesting array of subjects including his new community called
. A very nice guy and what I like most is he posts street photos of his native Nigeria as part of his daily actifit posts. Now I LOVE street photos, taken on the spur of a moment in real locations by real people. A genuine snapshot of real life, and it's even better as we don't normally get to see much of Nigeria normally. HINT to all my Nigerian friends....get some pictures posted!!
Anyway, please go and check out the latest news from his initiative here
Now it appears most people know this guy already. I spend my life living under a rock obviously but if you also live under a rock, get over and check out this guy . He owns a comic shop and writes about comics as well as life in general. He has a lovely relaxing style of writing and since I 'discovered' him have been taking a wander through his back catalogue. However, this beautiful piece of honesty and sincerity and possibly something that a lot of us can relate to is the article I'm going to point you towards. Gaining a Brother in My Brother touches on a lot of personal issues but he handles them with sensitivity, compassion and honesty. Truly top quality writing from a top quality fella.
We are a group of young people working for Venezuelan children and families
They run workshops, training and classes for kids in Venezuela as well as organising donations and help to families with kids. I have been going through their feed and the list of great work they're up to is unbelievable. Sadly right now I am not sure who exactly is behind them but I'm going to do some delving!
I feel a competition coming on so please pop over to them and just take a look at one of their posts, such as this one as a taster and see the smiles just a little charity and help can bring to people's lives
That's it for this all that's left for me to do is paste my old plagiarised #followfriday picture from
who I sadly haven't seen around these parts in a while. I hope he's well and to wish everyone a wonderful weekend.
Take care, be safe and be happy always :-)
plagiarised picture ;-)
Oh, nearly forgot. Can anyone who hasn't voted yet please pop over to my currently running post about the
. I'm really interested to hear views and opinion on this initiative and here are a few SBI shares for the people mentioned today.
Definitely that's it now. Back under my rock until next week!!
