It's Easter weekend, but #FollowFriday continues regardless. These are interesting times for Steemit and cryptocurrency in general. As I predicted the Steemit site has dropped out of the Alexa top 1000.
This may be partly driven by the Steem and SBD prices. Both are around $1.54 today. That may seem bad, but Steem was 16c a year ago and SBD was still around its intended $1 peg then. If you have confidence in this platform and are not just looking for a quick buck then it's still a good time to post as the Steem price may improve. If you are really confident then you could buy some, but I don't have the spare funds for that. You will have to wait 13 weeks to power down all your Steem Power anyway and we have no idea what the prices will be like then.
And so to business. Here are some creative Steemians whose work I've been enjoying. It's people like this who could really help this platform take off as they can bring in their fans and it a go-to site for entertainment.
is a musician who I got to know here. He's very creative with his videos, which he is putting on DTube.
draws cool comics. I've followed his Phill from GCHQ story for over a year. The last few parts have been spread out as he's been ill, but they are always worth waiting for.
also draws comics. I discovered him fairly recently. Some of his work is decidedly adult, but comics are not just for kids.
- I knew the comics of
long before I joined Steemit. They have been here a while and not always posted regularly, but they seem to be back now. Lots about Facebook recently for some reason.
- I caught part of a live concert by
on DLive. It may not be my taste in music, but she's a great performer.
I welcome your suggestion of people you have found. I like to see others doing posts like this to help build the community. If you are struggling to get going on Steemit then you could try to build a community around whatever interests you. The running community is growing well and there are others around homesteading, music, photography, art and others. The secret of Steemit is to make it fun for yourself. Then you will come back even if you are not making much. Social networks are made of people.
Steem on!
I'll buy guitar picks for Steem Dollars
