I was watching Rodger's Leicester City team last week when they brushed aside Spurs and today when they gave Newcastle a 5-0 drumming. Granted Newcastle did have a player sent off in the first half but they were still cruising. The mix of the older players such as Vardy, Schmeichel and Evans playing with the younger players coming through the ranks. Maddison immediately comes to mind. There are many clubs looking to sign him already. Maguire has gone to Utd but it seems there is a never ending batch of young players coming through. Rodgers purchased very little but just started bringing the young talent through. Since he arrived he has won 28 games with Leicester. Brendan Rodgers is doing what he always does. Exciting football, fast pace and good to watch. I always wondered after he was left go from Liverpool why clubs were not fighting for his signature. Rodgers went to Celtic and won all around him but any manager could do this. He then went to Leicester and now they have went into 3rd place in the premier league tonight.
The football fan perceived Brendan as a David Brent like character. After a reality TV show aired that Liverpool board had agreed to do it show Rodgers holding up an envelope. He told the players that he had two names in there. They were the players who would let the side down that season. I actually thought it wasn't a bad thing. But it came across as "Brentish". He also spoke about sticking to his philosophy quite a bit which made some elements of the media smirk. Cut to the present day and thats all Pepe goes on about. But he is not being laughed at or brandished Brentish. Nope Pepe is a genius.

With the exception of last year Rodger's Liverpool were the closest the reds ever got to lifting the premiership. Only for that famous slip then it would of changed things at Liverpool but for that season Liverpool were playing great football. Suarez was immense and they really were playing some stuff. They were top of the table with 3 games to go. He was there for 3 seasons but the season after the 2nd place things went a bit stale. He was not the energised Rodgers that he was the season before. The near miss had taken its toll plus his assistants had left.
I was just thinking tonight who Spurs would appoint if Pochettino stepped aside. Mourinho no , Massimiliano Allegri probably, Rodgers maybe as the club went after him before. I wouldn't mind seeing Rodgers at Spurs. He has proven himelf countless times and now again with Leicester. It is only a matter of time before the top clubs are looking at him again as a potential successor.
