Today is the "big game" (NFL won't let you use the actual name unless you get permission and pay them!) and I honestly am not a huge fan of either team.
But I am cheering for the Patriots today, specifically Tom Brady, and I thought I would share a little bit more about myself in order to tell you why.
I was born in California, but moved to Michigan when I was 5 years old as we followed my Dad's job out there. I guess you can say I grew up out there, as my most formative years were spent in Michigan. We moved back to California when I was 15 years old.
While in Michigan, we lived in the greater Detroit area, in town named Canton. When I was in middle school, our school did a fundraiser where we served concessions at the football games at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Well, the University of Michigan is where Tom Brady went to school. I spent a handful of games volunteering in the confessions to help raise money for our school, but that at the end of half time, the confession traffic died considerably. Since it was slow, I was able to sneak in the tunnels and watch most of the 3rd and 4th quarters of the games, and Tom Brady was Michigan's quarterback at the time! What a blast it was to watch the games, and I don't think anyone would have guessed the level of success Tom Brady would eventually have in the NFL, as he is arguably one of the most successful quarterbacks of all time.
I hope everyone has a great, safe time watching the game, the commercials and the half time show!
Best to my Steemit friends,
Brian
