It appeared after the weekends humbling by West Ham that club legends still had Mourinho's back, Gary Neville came to his defence after the defeat.
But it would appear Gary Neville was alone in his defence as fellow legends Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes didn't hold back.
Paul scholes while on punditry duties said "'I am sat here actually surprised he survived after Saturday, the performance was that bad"
'He's constantly having a go at players. He's having a go at those above him because he's not getting what he wants. I think his mouth is probably out of control and I think he's embarrassing the club.'
Continuing in his scathing remarks, Scholes also criticised the managers approach to games
'When has one of his teams ever tried to play out from the back anyway?
'They've always been defensively very good and not really been a total football team that like to play out from the back. It won't give the lads confidence will it? Especially the two centre halves.'
With Ferdinand adding that he wouldn't want to be one of the central defenders in that team if he's talking about him like that.'

Ferdinand after the stalemate against Valencia, didn't have nice words to say either, stating that's its Mourinho's responsibility to make Manchester United, a responsibility with which he has fallen short.
'There's not a work ethic,' said Ferdinand. 'The attitude doesn't seem right. No one's said about not going out there to win – people want to win football matches.
'If you could win it easily you would. Football's not easy, you have to work hard. That's a basic trait of any footballer or any team to be successful they have to have.
'This team doesn't have that, and where does that come from? That comes from and is driven by one person at the top, the manager. It falls at his feet.'
The Question though still remains, how long now before the axe will fall?
