Alexis Sanchez, the Chilean who lights up the premier league when in top form is often regarded as the best player in the Premier League, but is he really?
His stat of 53 goals and 23 assists in 108 games certainly prove that he is a very good player, but one of the best? Not really! Capable of producing moments of brilliance it is Sanchez's attitude that holds him down. He can't fathom anything good happening unless it goes through his feet which often costs in breaking moves down. Casual observers who just watch the highlights only see the best bits of his play might look at the highlights and swoon over his nutmegs but they don't show any lowlights of the game which truly show that Sanchez is not really as great as he is portrayed as!
He often loses the ball which results in the opposite team counter-attack. Not just that, a glance at any of the frustrated teammates he's ignored just because he wants to do it himself would explain what I'm getting at. Unless we all agree that one moment of magic is worth all the more consistent errors, Sanchez is not really a great player. Very good, YES. But not great by any stretch of the imagination!
