Many things is changing today in our society and the world of sport is not left behind as UEFA confirm that Stephanie Frappart will be the referee in charge of the super cup final that will take place by August 14 between Chelsea and Liverpool at Vodafone Park in Istanbul. This will be the first time in the history of football that female referee will be in charge of a major UEFA men's football.
It is the tradition every season that the winner of the UEFA champions league will always face the winner of the UEFA Europa league to decide the winner of the UEFA Super cup and this year edition is between two giants from England.
Although this is not the first time Stephanie will be in charge of men football, she has done that before when she officiated the match between SC Amiens and RC Strasbourg this year in the ligue 1 and by August 14, she will be accompanied by other female assistance referee Manuela Nicolosi and Michelle O'Neal. Stephanie has proved herself as someone who is capable of controlling such a big match.
Stephanie is a French female referee who started her referee career in 2011 in the Championnat National which is the third division of French men league and in 2014, she was promoted to ligue 2 as the first female referee to participate at that stage and finally in 2019, she got her first job done in the ligue 1 in the match between Sc Amiens and RC Strasbourg.
She was in charge of the FIFA Women's World Cup final in July after been selected as one of the best referee to make it to the round of 16 and finally to the final of the competition. She was also the referee of the UEFA Women's Euro semifinals in 2017 to mention few of her achievement.

According to UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, he hope this will serve as an inspiration for other female referee and it will also make the realize that gender is not a barrier in achieving one's dream as shown by Stephanie Frappart.
