It was a scare for Arsenal in their own backyard as FK Östersunds almost sprung a surprise turnaround to shock Arsenal in the 2nd leg of the round of 32 match in the Europa League.
The visitors went ahead with two quick goals in the 22nd and 23rd minute through Aiesh and Sea with the Arsenal defence going to slumber.
As expected, Arsenal fielded a fringe team with Jack Wilshere leading out the team. Hector Bellerin, Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mhkitaryan were the only regular names in the stating line up while Nacho Monreal, Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi were the regular names on the substitute bench.
As I rightly noted in my last post, the Swedes would not want to bow out without a fight which proved to be true as they were far more impressive than their showing in the first leg giving the hosts a run for their money. Arsenal's blushes were only saved by a Sead Kolasinac's right footed shot, pulling one back for the Gunners and allowed them qualify on a 4-2 aggregate.
Arsenal were far from impressive, showing no intent in the final third and they would be very glad that Östersunds did not get a third goal after the second, the story would have been different.
With ticket to the round of 16 secured, Arsenal would now turn all attention to the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday as they continue their hunt to end the season on the High.
