Firstly I want to talk about Fortnite. OMG, this game is seriously blowing up, I think this game has broken every possible record and is one of the most popular games in the last couple of years.
Their devs are amazing because they are fixing and doing everything so fast, plus the game is always very smooth, unlike its competitors. Anyway, they are doing an amazing job and their success is well deserved.
Ninja, a Fortnite Twitch streamer is someone who is the best player on Fortnite and the biggest Twitch streamer of all time.
He reached well over 3m followers on Twitch and over 205k subs! If you don't know, Subbing on twitch costs 5$. and the creator gets a cut of it. And just some interesting numbers -
He made over 700,000$ just from Twitch Subs in the last month. He has made a lot more money from Donations, Sponsors, and Youtube ad revenue. I will be surprised if he made less than 1.5M$ in the last 30 days.
And I'm so happy it happens to him! I don't watch his streams personally, but after watching some of his Interviews and what he does, I'm glad he's the one who blew up like this.
Now, Drake followed Ninja on Instagram and talked to him about playing together.
A week later, Drake found the time and they played duos, like 2-3 hours later, Travis Scott saw this and said he wants to play as well. Juju ( The football player ) have joined as well and they played squads.
The stream had over 635,000 viewers at one time and broke the viewers record on Twitch.
It was like a 4 hours stream and I watched it all! I didn't watch it live because I was on a vacation in Amsterdam, but I watched the vod that can be found on his Twitch Channel.
Here are the 2 vods - vod 1 vod 2
All of them even tweeted about this which really helped the concurrent viewers to rise.
It was really entertaining and Drake seems like a really genuine guy. He told Ninja he found out about him from Clips on Instagram and then he started watching his videos on Youtube.
He also said he loves playing video games in general and Fortnite in particular when he has free time because it really cleans his mind, He's sometimes staying in the studio for 15-20 hours and he loves taking a break and just play Fortnite.
This is a great thing for both Twitch and the Gaming industry!
I hope we will see round 2 soon :)
