I'm giving YOU a choice... either put on these Glasses, or start eating T.H.A.T. trash can...

Grow your Destiny on HIVE:
In the early days of the STEEM blockchain, there was a mechanism whereby a user required 500 STEEM Power in their account for the simple function of controlling the weight of their Voting. The network allowed for 10, full power votes before the STEEM Power began to deplete significantly and reduce the impact of further voting in a 24 hour period. At 500SP a Vote could be adjusted from 0-100% allowing the user to manage their own experience and voting activity. Later on, the Voting slider was built into other front ends, like BUSY.Org and SteemPeak.com, eliminating the incentive to build up your account through excellence and hard work. Further iterations of STEEM implemented a System Resource model, but in the end the incentive is still there to grow your own account for the activity you need.
In those early days, I remember enjoying the work. To build up your own account through effort and time. To take proceeds from posts and Power Up. I remember the satisfaction when after some time, my particular 100% Vote would lead to something as simple as $.01 of the rewards pool. Nothing could take back that satisfaction of knowing that my attention, efforts, and choices were actually building me an empire that could not be easily Blocked or ERASED by the choice of some Authority. The only real concern came from other users on the network with Higher STEEM Power who could only use it to Downvote my rewards but NEVER remove the PROOF of my efforts.
It was something like a bar brawl being unleashed where you had to fight your way through the Bullys to get the attention you were looking for... Wild, wild west sorta stuff... It was awesome...
