Moving from wild spaces filled with freedom to the coldness of urban life was all the more difficult as I was reading this book. Everyone knows it but I realized that few people around me had read it. I knew the main lines of the story but I had not yet gotten into the depth that reading brings.
Mass surveillance, personality cult in an ultra-hierarchical caste society, constantly rewriting of the past and therefore cancelling the future, all in a climate of indefinite war. George Orwell had already seen everything when he wrote "1984" in 1949 just after the Second World War.
Technology is great but we must keep in mind how much we can be deceived and degraded by it if, in the name of progress, no limits are put in place.
If you can open a book to find information, leave your computer closed. The process seems the same, but I think it's completely different. The quest process is not the same.
Always check your sources. Know your History !

In short, you can probably find very good analyses and more in-depth reviews of this book on the internet, but I strongly advise you to try reading it !
