I haven't been thinking of myself as a victim for quite a while now, but I wanted to share what I feel was the inception point and maybe inspire some change in others. The first thing that I had to wrap my mind around was co-creation of our own reality. Realizing that our minds are the only thing we ever really have complete and total control over is fundamental to escaping victim mentality. It's the difference between "something shitty happened and I learned from it" and "everyone is out to get me." It takes a lot of work to get to the point where we can truly understand that some people are unaware of their actions, including ourselves, and that only by moving past that and embracing our own true potential can we escape victim mentality and become the powerful co-creators of this reality that we were meant to be. If we want to change the world, that change starts from within ourselves. Namaste.
