The summer has come early and its way too hot up North!
How was your day? I had a good one working with happy people in a holiday mood. Today was Norway's National day and also my christian calender birthday! I stayed well clear of the city though, its way to much for me these days, I'd rather that the general public let there hair down and go wild in smaller doses more frequently than to go mad on certain days of the year! Its like one extreme to the other, one day its quite, next its really carnival time, and then quiet again until Christmas.. Gotta get that money before its non existent and people pay with microchips in the hand, and swap it to Crypto and Metals if you want to be free and financially free in 5-10 years from now.
Windows! Nah just kiddin'.. WALLS! Yes - Walls!
The last 2 parts of this Renovation Project can be found at the bottom of the post, also with all the other stuff I've wrote on here, I will have my own library !! We had just repaired the kitchen in the inside and we had just one more god-dam-window to find. It would be to go in the hole where the front door used to be and we would use the old back door as our main door. Until the right one showed up, it was all ready inside to start separating the cabin into 2 bedrooms and a lounge. We had LED lights already in the ceilings and had sockets where we pleased in our rooms and in the lounge, cables run and nearly all the walls insulated with 100mm rockwool.
This was the first wall, to seperate my room from the lounge leaving the width for a double bed and the rest would be lounge the width of a 3 seater sofa. Perfect. There was no insulation put in there so that heat would pass through the wall in winter.
Don't seem to have any photos of the kitchen ceiling progress, I think it was done before I remembered to take a photo, which happens often! The lounge had taken shape, we were happy with it, we would rather have big enough bedrooms than to have a big lounge as we arn't really the loungy types. There was a sink to the left of the door but we took it out as it was old and rusty and looked wrong. We got another sink from the bikers HQ down the road where they had a renovation and I'll fit it at some point as there is already a drain pipe going down to the stream - There will be a sign saying to use Only Organic Wash-soaps! I actually wanted to do it in winter but lost it in the snow!
Next was to build the wall separating the 2 bedrooms, this wall would be insulated because Cronus is one of the heaviest snorers I've ever heard..
You see the shape of my room now *Below*
So now wall the walls where ready and mostly insulated, the sections that arn't yet were empty because the insulation wasn't a full piece and you leave them until the end and use the waste.
Plasterboard!
Dear Lord..
700KG of Plasterboard!!
First piece on the new wall then the progress as follows
My Room
Cronus' Room
The wall between the two bedrooms, you see if I had fitted the 2 doors side by side, my room would have been Tiny!
The Lounge- Very nearly finished - Oh we got the last window!
It said it was 11kg online, and I went with a bus then a tube then a bus again, 1hr 30 each way and this thing was around 70kg easy. The woman was shocked when I arrived on foot also with rucksack, guitar and dogs- it was a 3km walk to the bus stop.WINDOWS!
Fitted corner lights, Poshest Squat ever!My Room, I have an entrance!
I even "shanfered" the corners of the lounge walls, and the window "reveals" (the sides of the wall next to the windows) the corners were just an experiment to try and the window sides where to let more light in the room.
Filled the plasterboard joints and screw holes, and sanded down ready for some paint in both the bedrooms, then all left to do really was to build a bed..
Paint and Bed In My Room
Cronus' room and bed.
His bed was recycled from "Toms cabin", I will do a post on this place after I've finished these renovation ones. Oh yes that's right, Tom was here at this time but pussied out before the winter and left to head south. My room very finished!
Yay A "finished The Inside of the Cabin Party" with the 2 dolls we got from Oslo National Theater trash!
In part 4 We go do the rest on the outside, Hope you stay tuned!!
