Just a thought: People on both sides of the political argument are capable of both intelligent understanding and competent decision making. The issue is not one of belief in credible evidence. It's acceptance of sources of evidence, and both sides of the argument have sources that lie through their frigging' teeth daily. One needs a finely tuned bullshit detector in order to filter it out, and much of the noise that we hear is purpose built to get past them and straight to our personal biases, and it can be really hard to fight that. What the nation needs to do is find a credible source of information that everyone can accept, left and right, conservative and liberal. Until that happens we will have this division between us, splintering a nation that should be able to stand as one. Oh and we also need to grow up and stop pointing fingers. Everyone, including me, does it, and everyone including me, in this context, is wrong. More later, perhaps. I have the yen to write yet again. It's been a while.
