Not too long ago, I was bored so I decided to write the beginning of a weird futuristic sci-fi that had no real ending. Initially going in to it, I thought that it was decent. But after reaching a point, my mind simply went blank.
So, I want to see if anyone in the Steemit Community have any ideas to where I can go with this.
Here is the story...
“What a magnificent sight! Today is the day humanity will step into the final frontier ,” a rookie journalist reported as a grand object was slowly lifted into the sky.
The citizens of the United Peoples of Earth awed at the dark spherical object looming above them. Supported by huge thrusters, the floating monument began to illuminate, creating a humming noise which caused spectators from across the globe to cheer. People were ecstatic. Reporters and bloggers alike ran out to get a closer look at humanity’s greatest achievement. The floating structure began to glow even brighter and brighter. It was so luminous that everyone felt like they were burning. Perhaps, they were burning. Perhaps, they would die. They did die. However, it seems that they never existed in the first place. Perhaps, the entire universe was wiped, and it’s history now ceased to exist.
It was only five days until the activation of the OP-T3, the first functional prototype of a device capable to linking itself to multiple realities and acting as a bridge between them. Its creator, Dr. Doctor Scientist, was rather unsure of his work. As an insecure man, Dr. Scientist always felt uneasy about himself; he always checked his calculations, measurements, and predictions hundreds of times over before passing it to his supervisors to do the same. He was very aware of his faults: his awkwardness and carelessness that always ensured a mistake.
Again, constructive criticism would highly be appreciated.
