First off, quick thanks to my aunt for helping me get set up and for teaching me a bit about the in's and out's of the site. I hope I do some justice! Here's what I came up with for my #freewrite
Day 74: 5 Minute Freewrite - Prompt: callous
Don't Be So Callous
Why are you so callous?
That face isn't because she hates you, she's trying to remember you.
Her out burst just then wasn't because she's an evil woman, it's her disease she's fighting and the emotions she is trying to understand.
That comment you made with callous menace...
She may have not heard but I did.
She's here with her family,
Even though she can't remember why.
She was coughing just then because she can't remember how to swallow right and her emphysema doesn't help.
Her wheel chair isn't a play thing,
We've put it out of the way so you wouldn't trip on it.
It's not there for you to push your buddies in.
And that parking spot out there is for people with disabilities...
Not for people who believe they have rights.
Don't be so callous.
It doesn't go unnoticed,
I see, hear and feel all those comments,
Those looks,
Those snickers,
Take it all somewhere else...
Somewhere your callousness is appreciated,
Or,
Don't be so callous.
Because you don't know.
