Something that irks me to no end is how people can be so callous, but seem like such nice people otherwise. I could be friends with someone and if turns out that they are callous towards people, especially children, then I would disassociate myself with them. It's just something that I can not tolerate. I don't understand how people can be that way. For me, I like to treat people as I would like for them to treat me. You know, the Golden Rule. Why and how people can be so uncaring or heartless is beyond my comprehension. I can understand, but not approve, if they are like that all the time, but when they act one way and then turn into a complete opposite person, then that is not acceptable. I have not met too many people like that in my lifetime, but in my humble opinion, they are people that need to be avoided. No good will come from being around people like that.
