There is so much hate in the world right now. Wherever we look, someone is hating something - or someone else enough to do something truly terrible. It is almost a feeling of hate rising up in me towards the radio dial - and yes, I do have a dial on my car radio. I also have windows I have to open and close by cranking the crank or whatever you call that thing, by hand. No fancy pushing of a button to have the windows glide up and down - but I digress.
This past week has been a particularly hard news week.
14 bombs have been delivered to various people that our president railed against in public.
Maybe there isn't a connection. but the bomber has lots of admiration for that same president and had gone to many of his rallies.
Really? Holding rallies after being elected? but whatever tickles your fancy, I suppose.
Or?
Is that the attitude to have when also last week a bunch of leaders of White Supremacist groups got arrested who had made it their mission to beat up anyone who was protesting against that president.
They posted the videos proudly on YouTube and probably the place of no privacy we all use and know as Facebook.
Well, at least law enforcement is still working and locking them up - for now at least.
Then, we have all heard that same president talk about that caravan of possible immigrants moving towards our border.
For some reason, we are hating them already, before they even got here. Never mind that this country is built on immigration and so many newly arriving immigrants are doing the jobs we either don't want to do or can't do.
So many employed in tech jobs weren't born in the US and the companies hired them and begged them to come here since they couldn't find qualified employees in this country.
Back to the caravan that is already hated on and suddenly, somehow - I still don't understand how- the Jewish people got blamed for it.
And the terrible expression of someone's hate was to shoot at Jewish people while they were praying. Shooting at people who probably do not know any more about that caravan than what was said on the news.
We, the people - all of us need to wake up and ban hate from our lives. It doesn't lead us to anything good.
