Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. This week we said goodbye to a beloved old lady in our circle of friends. She was cremated. Many people, especially Christians, do not like the idea of cremation, and would rather be buried. Cremation - ashes to ashes. Burial - dust to dust. As far as I am concerned, it makes no difference. Personally I would not like to be buried. I want to be cremated. I do not even care whether my family goes to fetch my ashes afterwards. But if they do, I would like them to just get rid of it. Yes, there is the tradition that ashes should be strewn in a meaningful place, but I really could care less. Just, please, never keen my ashes in an urn. I will haunt you! I do not want your memories of me be burnt to ash. But when I am finally ash, please remember me as the living, caring soul that I was when I was still on this earth. Keep the memories of me intact, but get rid of the material ashes. I will be in a better place anyway, and I will not need this body anymore. Christ will resurrect me, and I will have a new, glorified body...................
