David was a young man with a bright future. He had things going smoothly for him. One could call him a successful teenager. Despite the fact that he had lost his parents and had survived by doing odd jobs. Couldn't get a professional job because he lacked the certificate qualification. David had saved up a lot of money from previous works and was on the verge of opening a furniture sales outlet with his small wealth. If this business becomes successful David would be an employer of labour, a boss to some individuals. His high school friend who was a cryptocurrency enthusiast was able to talk David out of spending his time and energy in this furniture biz and try cryptocurrency investment. David was convinced that this was definitely better. After all, this his friend had no office job and was practically swimming in money. Money gotten as dividends from investing.
David made an unwise decision. His friend had convinced and he was now hungry for quick money. David violated the first rule of cryptocurrency investment. "Do not participate with money you are not comfortable with loosing ". David put in all his money as he was expecting huge returns. He did this because the little he had put earlier had generated about 15% interest. David was unfortunate, as there was a market correction which resulted in him loosing 58% of his money. His friend had warned him about the vulnerability of cryptocurrency market, that price could rise and fall at any time.
Still coping with his loss and trying to get out of cryptocurrency sphere, he attempted salvaging his remaining funds by trying to sell them. In the process of doing this, he got scammed. His remaining hope for money was gone. These events led to major depression. He couldn't just bare the loss. First he isolated himself, then later his neighbours found him dead. He had committed suicide.
This was all a result of his depression.
