Narendra Modi, a Hindu nationalist leader, swept to power in the 2014 and 2019 elections through the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). His rule has dismantled India’s secular constitution, transforming the country into a Hindu state. Modi has imposed a toxic ideology of Hindu fundamentalism on India, turning it into a nation of traditional fanaticism, which has plunged 220 million Muslims, 30 million Christians, and 200 million lower castes into a pit of disenfranchisement and poverty. Modi, who is infamous as the Butcher of Gujarat and is linked to crimes against humanity, cannot escape responsibility for this disaster.
