What a great topic. I say that because of my personal experience. I started getting allergy shots when I was 9 or ten. To start with, once a week my mother would take me to the allergist.
By the time I could drive, the doctor realized that I had a very high tolerance for the serum. He upped the dose and I only had to go once a month. He was just about let me experiment with once a year shots, but I joined the Airforce to avoid being drafted.
The Air Force evidently did not understand some people had a higher tolerance than others. After every shot, I had to wait an hour before I could leave. I needed anther way.
That's is when I discovered...
