Visiting the place where the river originates was indeed a special occasion for me. We rode to the Paaniyeli poru and then took tickets to trek to the river side. There was no normal path as seen in photographs. We climbed a stony path. There were guards who watched. They warned people who tried to get into the river. The flow was brutal and anyone who tried to get in could be carried away by the under current.
