Thanks to some friends here, I got to join in Shadows Pub daily prompts and today's nonfiction prompt was: What is your happiest childhood memory ? I'm new and I'm glad to be among this community of writers on Hive. Can't wait to partner with other free writers here , but then let's dive into the prompt.
As adults or teenagers today, we all look back to those fun days of childhood and just smile with contempt and innermost joy. I myself, am I not left out as I usually do remember those very fun days of my childhood with 4 siblings and 2 parents.
After seeing the prompt, I must admit that it was really hard to pick a favourite as I do have very numerous funny and wonderful ones but one I always remember with the utmost joy was when I played in a competition finals with my Dad and family watching me in the stands. What made it so special was that dad was among the spectators for the first time. Usually, he was always too busy to come sit for 60 minutes (30 minutes for each half) and watch kids play football, lol. Sometimes I felt he was lazy and sometimes I felt he didn't care about me but that day, he proved me wrong and came to watch me captain my childhood club in a final. And of course I repaid him with a goal to help the team win.
I particularly remember him being very happy when I was presented with the check for the prize money😂. Up till now, I'm still trying to figure out whether he was actually happy cause I was a winner or that I was bringing a huge sum of cash home😂😂. But nothing brought me more joy than seeing Dad cheer me.
That's it from me friends. Do let me know what your favourite childhood memory was and what you think about mine. From Lee, it's goodbye for now.
