You still see those chocolates with you? We hardly see them since a few years and those available are expensive and disgusting. My daughter gave me some boxes this year. One for Valentine's day, one for my birthday and one for my birthday. On the card she gave for my birthday, she wrote: I bought a box for myself to try them. They are disgusting! If this is fairtrade I rather have chocolate from slavery." It made me laugh also because we just searched for all those other labels printed on food "bio+" and more nonsense. If you read what it's about you figure out fast enough that's it the opposite of what you believe it stands for. There's no reason to buy anything with a special level, they are crooks abusing a name that stands for nothing and guarantees nothing but it's a great method to make people pay more for less.
Fairtrade doesn't mean better food just better payment the question is only who receives a better salary and how much ends up in the pocket of this organization.
The chocolates? They look different and lost their colour but the filling is all the same. If you ask me it's palm fat with some sugar and chemicals. Nutella tastes better and so do the chocolates I make myself (or my son these days). What hides in the boxes is old, disgusting and cheaply produced in Europe.
