Proof of Innocence
Damion filed for a divorce the day after his wife finally told him "no." His only intention was to get his wife to shape up and to continue to do things his way. His time spent grooming her would not fail him now after all of these years. He made Dee believe that she couldn't survive on her own and that she needed him.
After Dee retained a lawyer, Damian realized that she actually wanted a divorce and dropped his case. However, Dee continued with the divorce proceedings and now she was divorcing him. He never thought that she would have the nerve to divorce him, especially after all of his threats. After the divorce was final, Damian made it his career to make her life as miserable as possible, to make sure that she failed in everything, so she would come crawling back to him.
During the years after the divorce, Damian fabricated many different stories that were well planned and executed. He always won in court, thanks also to her worthless lawyer. She lost custody of their children, lost 2 of her jobs, and now she was in court for the 10th time because Damian had framed her for a crime that she did not commit. It was the last of the 4 day court trial, before her fate would be put in the jury's hands. The evidence was stacked against her, even though she was innocent, once again. Dee's lawyer told her to go home and pack her toothbrush because she would probably be going to jail the following day.
She went home that night and wracked her brain trying to figure her way out of the mess she was in, when it hit her. The telephone bill! That was the document that would provide evidence of "Not Guilty!" She had never attempted to kill Damian as he claimed, let alone the time he accused her of doing so. She had been talking on the phone long distance with a friend for an hour during that time. Damian had already ruined her life and was almost successful in taking away her freedom. Thankfully, there was a paper trail which saved her, and also began Damian's demise.
