Since its almost that time of the year, I thought id share some clusters known for their colors and really match the autumn season. These stones are a mix of iron and manganese, I show off different formations that I have found at the Diamond Hill Mine in South Carolina.
Interestingly manganese will only grow on other stones, so you will never find a pure manganese stone. Its always mixed with iron or quartz or some other mineral. I shine a light through the stones to show off their iron and manganese inclusions. They are pretty rare compared to most clear crystals or quartz I find at the Diamond Hill Mine. So its always a nice treat when I come across them.

I have iron/manganese stones with spotty variants and a few with it really mixed into the stones. Many skeletal and druzy formations.
This is my entry for weekly challenge called #fridaysrock.
