In the past, the holidays would mean that we would have an oversupply of fruits. These came from gifts from various clients of my brother, who used to live with us. I wasn't too comfortable with the idea of having too much fruits, as these are perishables. Plus, I hate seeing food spoilage.
I have previously shared two experimental recipes that I just put together based on what types of fruits we had on hand. This time around, the fruit ingredients are kiwi, orange, and apple.
I was a bit concerned that the oranges were getting too ripe. I needed to squeeze the juices out to add to my fruit smoothie.
The kiwi fruits and apples were sliced. I peeled the skin off the kiwi fruits. I removed the apple seeds. Then, when the prep was done, they both got thrown in the blender.
Note that I have these photos on my Facebook. I actually laughed a bit upon reading the caption for the above photo. "Whirrrrrrr" was what I wrote, representing the sound made of the blender as I mixed the fruits with the freshly squeezed orance juice.
Now, here's a recap of the ingredients and procedure for this homemade recipe. You may add sugar to taste. However, I prefer mine sugar-free!
