For the past three years, I have been attending a really fun beerfest in Sacramento, called Capitol Beerfest. This annual event is not only a lot of fun, but all profits made from this even goes to a non-profit called Running for Rhett.
Running for Rhett is a non-profit dedicated to fitness and health. This foundation was created after Rhett Seevers passed away 2004, from cerebral palsy. Even though Rhett was only on earth with us for 7 years, he left a huge impact on the people around him.
In 2005, his mother Beth Seevers, ran a marathon on the anniversary of Rhett's death. Running and completing this marathon really inspired her. In 2007, she started the non-profit Running for Rhett. This organization has changed the lives of many and helped over 1000 of youths and adults get have a fit and healthy life. If you would like to learn more about this amazing organization, please click here.
As I mentioned earlier, I love attending Capitol Beerfest, knowing that my ticket money will go towards this amazing organization. Plus, it is also really fun to be able to drink on the Capitol lawn and try out hundreds of beers. (Well, more like 5 or 6 beers, since I'm a light weight)
Of course, I made sure to make a video so you guys could be a part of the fun.
In this video, you will also meet my good friend, Marina. This is one of our annual activities we love to do together. She hates taking photos, but I still managed to snag one of her. Here she is, saying no to the camera! :)
love,
Karen
