For this session of #funart with me, I designed a Steemit inspired hangout place for Nico. For those who don't know Nico, you can find him in 's post entitled Nico in Puerto Rico, isn't he adorable playing at the beach...?
I've been thinking of ways on how do I materialized the brand or Steemit logo in a way that is creative and feasible. Does it have to be something extravagant? Or could it be just a simple hangout place like this one that I sketch.
The idea of Nico's hangout place came to me when I realize that the shape of the new Steemit's logo has a potential to be turned into a house-like design. It turned to be a cute and modern looking miniature house when visualized in a proportion that will fit to Nico.
Without any doubt, I began the initial sketch and eventually continued into a realistic looking mini house. Let me show you the progress of my sketches and coloring:
As seen on the progress of my work, I started drawing the rough sketch of Nico, house, & lawn. And then I colorize the oulines and the pattern on the surface using the markers from Copic Ciao. If you are interested with color codes that I used, here is the list:
- Black: 100
- Dark Green: G94
- Light Green: YG23
- Wood: E08
- Peach: E93
- Light Blue: B02
- Dark Blue: BG09
It's my second time use these markers and I'm already getting comfortable at it. I like the colors in particular and also the brush tip pen that made it easy for me to apply the colors and outline of the shapes.
I hope you enjoyed this session of Fun art with me and if you are interested to see my previous work, you may check it out here: Fun art 01.
