I was in the supermarket last night – specifically the cereal aisle. Since we're gluten free, there are only a few cereals that we can eat. My daughter stopped in front of the display and just laughed. She grabbed one of the boxes off the shelf and said in shock, “They're not even pretending that it's cereal anymore!!! Sprinkled Donut Crunch?!?!?!"
Don't believe me? Hahaha ok! I'll show you... but first -
For those who haven't had a chance to read the intro (you can read it HERE if you choose), the following 26 days will be snippets of conversations -either REAL... or based on REAL conversations- that actually happened during my 26-day detox. Spoiler alert: I've already done this 26-day detox.I conquered it. I feel amazing and though it was SO WORTH IT... the comics will express my very real attitudeDURING the detox. Is it any wonder why it's so hard for us to break our addictions? We are completely inundated. The last week of the detox , I remembered thinking about preparing my mind for returning to “normal life”. If you're not prepared, you'll be subject to so much temptation, and you'll most likely give in.
I'm sure you've heard it before – but it really works! Shop the perimeter of the store as much as possible. The whole foods are on the outer edge. Go organic, if you can! Chart your course for the outskirts of the supermarket and you'll be avoiding so many hormones, pesticides, chemicals, antibiotics, GMOs, toxins and poisons!
Of course we can't eat completely clean all the time! Our world is sadly affected in every way by a toxic shroud. All we can do is make the best choice possible, for our situation. Some people think – well if you can't afford organic, then you might as well just forget it!
Wrong.
Eating a non-organic banana is going to be much better for you than the Captain's box of sugared donut cereal! Every day, you can substitute one thing from your past, unhealthy choices for a healthy alternative.
You really can do it! Get ready for the challenge, and then attack it!! Your body will love you for it – and so will I!
