Ok so here is the deal , i have been cruising round droppin upvotes on hella articles like a boss thanks to the Make a Minnow project on the P.A.L Network. I been doozin the dooz and making it happen, and doing a great job is i dont say so myself, lolz. However, i have been having a major downfall in my interaction with my fellow steemians....
In some of the backwards and forwards of commenting on articles , sometimes i get on the subject of Discord the community and social aspects etc. and realizing that these great steemians aren't on Discord i try to let them know there is a whole new world out there once you jump on board with some of the great communities on there like P.A.L Network. and Helpie.
As many of us know, the greatest part of what we are doing here is the social interaction, finding like minded people and growing together. the byproduct of this is that your account grows in followers, more people read you articles and you get more upvotes.... YAY awesome right ?!?!?!?! Then why does it feel like they end up looking at me like im this guy...
I dunno what it is that im doing, but it dont seem to be working, lolz. It may be that there is a considerable degree of difficulty to convey tone via text, maybe im just wording it wrong or something else... Whatever it is im left scratching my head like "ahhh..." lolz.
I suppose it could be that the whole thing sounds too good to be true, like unicorns and magic chocolate fountains , the land of milk and honey, fairies that grant you special wishes.... I guess it could come across as some kinda scam... but im not asking nor gain anything from it.
Could i sound like a bot? i dont think so, i would need to be a pretty advanced bot to be able to engage with people at the levels of a hooman being... spelling and grammar mistakes and all :) but its not like im giving away candy in a creepy van or anything, so whats the deal?
I think what it comes down to is, that when you talk about things that you are passionate about it can come across as though you are a used car sales man, slapping the roof of the car and making bold claims "just to get the sale". That would be all well and good if there was any kind of monetary gain involved, but for real there isn't, yall know this, im just tryna help good noob content creators find like minded people, their community , their tribe , so that they can be nurtured surrounded by peers and grow into awesome steemians connected to other awesome steemians.
I guess all i can do is keep trying to spread the good word about how great it is to be part of the communities on discord that stem from steemit. That no matter who you are what you are into you will find like minded people to be open with and share your stories and them share theirs with you. maybe its one of those things you have to experience yourself before seeing what it means to be part of it.... but i strongly recommend coming in for the free hugs... nothing suss, i swear, lolz
