A few years ago, a friend of mine told me that she had such a fear of false teeth when she was growing up that one day when she saw her grandmother's dentures in a glass in the bathroom, she took the teeth and went outside and buried them. Although this was funny, I can imagine just how upset her grandmother must have been when she realized that her dentures were missing. She had to buy another set of false teeth, and I'm almost sure that my friend never told her that she was the one who had thrown her teeth away.
I know that there are people in the world who have a lot of irrational fears, or phobias, but I had never heard of someone being afraid of false teeth before--at least not enough to actually take them outside and perform a burial on them.
