Very close to 2 years ago to the minute, someone joined the platform who has helped me a lot. In fact, they helped me before I knew who they were and likely before they had any idea who I was. I count them as a friend now however, what do I really know about this person, this, "@Acidyo" ?
I am not very trusting of people so thought I would do a little digging and see what I can find. Here, walk with me:
This is how he(?) represents himself. As the pink Pokemon, Mew. People often choose their online personas based on either something they think represents them or, something they want to think represents them. I decided to do some digging.
MEW source
As demonstrated by its behavior in the first and eighth Pokémon movies, it shows signs of intelligence, curiosity, playfulness, and even selflessness. Mew is incredibly adaptable, able to travel freely in the air or underwater. As seen in Pokémon Snap, it can create a green/yellow/pink orb of energy around itself for protection.
I think we are getting somewhere with the 'signs of intelligence'. Aspirational dreaming? Selflessness... hmm. Interesting but we'll get to that later. Of course, he is not (probably) going to look exactly like Mew however, I suspect there are some similarities.
I asked some experts in the field of profiling serial killers to build as close of a representation as they could muster on the material I found and after months of fine-tuning and deliberation, they came up with this:
They have put it at a ±0.8 percent margin of error which makes it extremely likely. Funnily enough, the AI Supercomputer used for modelling, without previous inputs placed the medallion around the neck. If you look closely, it bears a remarkable similarity to the chesticle or chestahedron or whatever that EOS-shilling Brock Pierce was rambling about on stage. Close, but no Cigar AI, no cigar (although the 'mockup' clothing would get him into Brock's Burning Man wedding)...
You see, one thing we do know about is this:
Steeeeeeeeeeeemmmmmmmmmmmiiiittt!!!
But, it isn't enough to have an accurate picture of what the man(?) looks like, we need to actually see how he acts and what we know is this. He is a curator that looks for undervalued content. He runs the curation project and has done for about a year now.
This though, we already know as it is one of the widest reaching curation projects out there but, where did he get his 'curator' beginnings, what pushed him into the waters of caring, is this a selfless act?
To answer these questions, I pushed deep into the past, to the birth of SteemMew two years ago to see what it could tell. An origin story?
We know the date he appeared but what might give insight is, what was his first mark upon the chain? A comment, not a post. And this one really does give some insight into who we are dealing with.
Yep. A f*cking smartass
Perhaps that is the 'playful' nature of the Mew. What do you think ? I can already guess at your answer mate, don't worry.
But, not too long after it gets even more intriguing, something that might want to organise a Deep Dive on perhaps. There, hidden at the root of the
profile is, the Genesis post, the one that started it all. Here it is:
All I can say is... Meh.
But, there is more!!
Just like there always is on TV shopping, there is much more to this story, more gold to find. And it is here that the Master manual curator can be seen, it is here you see the heart of the man behind the cute little Pokemon. Unlike his posts now, the payout on his first one was:
0, Zilch, Zip, Nada.
But that isn't the interesting bit, this is:
Yes, , the man who has manually upvoted almost 60,000 posts in his two years, his first vote was a
-esque FLAG! Not only that, he flagged himself. Obviously, even he knew it was a shitpost!
It was likely at this point he realised, something had to be done and he has been doing something ever since.
So there we have it, the origin. As they say, the rest is history and immutable.
All I really know is that over the last year or so he has had my back in various ways and has occasionally even made me laugh. Over his time on Steem he has supported many, many people and it has come at a very high cost to his own potential growth and that is something that is rare here. I think that without him, there would be lot fewer active members either directly or indirectly.
You have done well and acted Mew-ishly and I wish you all the best for the next two years here... if it survives.
Shill harder
