This is my dog Dougal. He was a such a quirky, characterful canine. A constant source of amusement.
When I took him for a walk, I used to throw this rubber ring for him to chase after. When he brought it back, he used to like to play tug of war with it. After a while, I grew tired of playing tug of war, so I hooked the ring onto this wooden pillar. It kept him amused for a white a while :-)
He was so determined, that he would never let go!
And it wasn't just tug of war that he used to demonstrate his strength. He would also pick up the largest stick he could possibly find.
One time he ran straight through two trees while carrying a large stick. But the gap wasn't large enough and the stick caught on the trees, slamming him to a complete stop and pushing his canine tooth through his tongue! I had to rush him to the vet, the poor little chap.
He used to love sitting cross-legged directly in front of the fan heater, practically burning his fur off.
And beware, if he ever found you laying on the floor. He would take the first chance to sit on you!
He would also make such funny noises. He didn't sound like a dog. And to top it all off, he was always breaking wind and then being surprised by the sound! He was also very affectionate. When my niece was 6 months old, she got a very severe allergic reaction to the dog hair and we had to rush her to hospital. So we had to give Dougal to another family. That was 12 years ago and I still miss him!
