Yesterday and today I sanded the coin a lot and after I oiled it :-)
Before I start: I left the small writing. During sanding the "F", I realized that it is almost impossible to sand such small corners correctly. After more than 4 hours of sanding there are still some very small fibers, even though I used 240 sandpaper. I hope the oil covers most of them.
But like this the Coin is simple and it's effect is still awesome!
And the "F" shows unmistakably that this is an Future24Coin! :-)
Perhabs I will change my mind in the future and do the writing, if I have the tools and the experience for it :)
I hope you like it nevertheless! :-)
Here the last steps (I kind of get nostalgic here :D)
And these were the small ones :D
I had to use my fingernails as sanding block, to get into the small corners! :D
That is how he looked like after sanding. To continue I cleaned it with water and took the oil :)
Here is a lot of oil, the excess is meant to be cleaned after 20 - 30 minutes.
After cleaning the excess it had to dry over night :-)
Today I sanded it again with the 240 paper and tried to remove some of the small fibers, with the oil somehow it worked better. After that again cleaning and reoiling :-)
The cleaning makes it look so much better :-)
And oil again.
And after cleaning the excess, drying over night.
Eventuelly I will add another layer of oil, depending on how good he looks tomorrow. But first, this was my blog about the wooden Future24Coin!
To conclude I can say, that I had a lot of fun working on this coin. Even though I got frustrated sometimes, as it did not work like I wanted to :D. But I knew this would be worth the result. I hope you like the coin!
Let me know what you think about the coin and my building methods! :-)
Have a look at blog, he founded the coin!
And at , he designed the coin I worked on!
