So, we made to 2030, and the Earth's still here..
Although I can't say it's in great shape.
But then I'm not either. But I'm still getting along.
Another New Year, another New Year's Eve that I didn't go out to party.
I've never really been a party person.
We did manage to link up with all of the girls today though which was great. My wife was particularly sad that it was the third Christmas that we hadn't all been together. I was too but I tried not to show it.
Izzy didn't manage to come here for Christmas but she's gone back now to Cardiff to spend New Year with her partner.
Amy is still in Morocco. She had hoped to get back but because of some massive sandstorms they are way behind schedule on the filming.
And Anne is in China with the trade delegation.
But with a bit of jiggling with time zones we all got on the video chat together which was nice.
Unfortunately Anne got cut off after only a couple of minutes and we couldn't get the connection back, so she missed the chance to practice her Spanish when her cousins in Chile joined us on the call.
It reminded me of the old days when I used to do shows on MSP Waves. Trying to get everyone hooked up at the right UTC, and Discord playing up and dropping connections. They were fun times.
Hopefully Amy and Anne will both be back in the UK soon.
I am not much of a one for birthdays but it will be my 70th soon. My three score and ten will be up, so it would be good to see them then.
We didn't have any special New Year's meal. Although I guess it was pretty special as all the veg was fresh from our garden. Rather good going considering it's the middle of winter!
We don't seem to have much in the way of frosts these days. In fact I think it 4 years now since the last one.
It's weird but great for growing, so I'm not complaining.
With the solar LED system we put in we are getting decent crops all year round.
In fact we produce way more than we need now.
I booked the Cybertruck in for the upgrade. I got up at 7.30am especially to do it but the earliest appointment is still not until 26 February unless I want to go all the way to the main centre in Manchester.
That's a pain. I've been waiting all year to get the FAU7 fitted.
Fully autonomous cars have been legal in England for two years now but the Welsh Government decided they wouldn't be allowed here until all the systems were had total bilingual capability. Oh boyo!
I didn't realise there would so many people in Wales wanting to get the upgrade on the first day it became legal. I guess they were all tight-wads like me.
The FAU7 was available as an optional extra on the Cybertruck II when I bought it. I wish I'd paid the extra £5,000 and then it would have just been an over the air activation.
I am not a fan of driving, so just sitting back and the letting the car do the work sounds good to me.
I'd better wrap here.
One of my New Year's resolutions was to go to bed midnight at the latest.
Starting to write this diary was another resolution.
So I guess it's a one all draw so far.
Til tomorrow...
